Rumors of GSP's Father Dying Are False

According to this French article, Myriam St-Pierre, GSP's sister, refutes claims that their father Roland St-Pierre is dying. The link to the article can be found here. This is in reply to reports claiming that GSP's father is dying and that GSP has impregnated a woman but does not wish to keep the baby. There was no comment on who may be the mother to GSP's unborn child or if the rumor is accurate. These reports surfaced after GSP announced Saturday night that he would like to take some time off from fighting to focus on personal issues.

UFC 111

Are you ready??  I can't wait!  My predictions are Carwin by knockout over Mir and GSP over Hardy.  I'm not selling Mir or Hardy short, but I have faith in my two guys.  I'm a huge fan of both Georges St. Pierre and the undefeated Shane Carwin.  I think this is an awesome fight card!

  • This is the first time a British fighter has competed for a UFC title
  • Martin Kampmann was replaced by Jake Ellenberger due to a deep cut that Kampmann suffered in training, but Thiago Alves was removed from the card due to an irregularity from a pre-fight CAT scan.  Ben Saunders, who was scheduled to fight Jake Ellenberger, asked that Jon Fitch replace Ellenberger. As a result, Ellenberger will not compete in that match but was promised his fees since it was a last minute switch.
  • UFC airbrushed Hardy's tattoo on the promotional poster.  The tattoo reads "om mani padme hum" and Dana White said it was done to keep from offending the Chinese government
